Current Nutritious Obsession & Look At What I Found In My Nail Polish Stash...

In a past blog post, I mentioned that cauliflower soup is one of my favourite soups. Well, I found a way to make it even creamier and more delicious without any dairy... just add about 1/4 cup of coconut milk to your bowl of soup and stir! The coconut milk only adds about 40 calories, but it makes the soup taste so sinfully good! No wonder why Thai people love adding coconut milk to savoury dishes!

Not only does this coconut twist make my staple caulliflower soup recipe even more delicious, but it also makes it even more nutritious as well! Here are some nutrients found in coconut milk and their benefits:
  • manganese - stabilizes blood sugar levels
  • copper - maintains skin elasticity
  • phosphorous - strengthens bones
  • iron - prevents anaemia
  • magnesium - relieves muscle tension or soreness
  • selenium - reduces joint inflammation
  • potassium - lowers blood pressure
  • vitamin C - boosts immune system
  • zinc - may help prevent prostate cancer
  • dietary fibre - gives feeling of satiety to help maintain/achieve a healthy weight

So, while you guys and gals are thinking of ways to incorporate coconut milk into your diet, I want to show you all what I found in my ever-growing nail polish stash yesterday morning... Glamour Doll Eyes eyeshadows! The owner, Vee, sent these to me for review purposes over a year ago. I've done a review and tutorials on them in the past, but then they somehow got lost in my makeup collection. Anyways, I found them and fell in love with them all over again!

I love me some pigments and swatches, so here are the colours in natural sunlight WITHOUT any bases/primers (from left to right):
Chocoholic, Electric Lemonade, Victorian, Shamrock, Glam Girl, Blueberry Lush

Here are the same swatches with flash:
These eyeshadows are so pigmented and the texture is amazing! They all glide on smoothly and they are not chalky at all. The finish is somewhere in between MAC's frost and lustre finishes. My faves are probably Chocoholic and Victorian as they are more everyday colours. I enjoyed wearing the brighter colours in the past as liners using MAC Eyeliner Mixing Medium. If any of you want to try them out, I think Vee will be having a Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale, so look out for that!

Well, I would love to stay and chat about more makeup and health stuff, but I'm swamped with stuff to do in the next 2 weeks. However, I promise a small Black Friday haul on Youtube! :)

Hope all you American readers have a great Thanksgiving and don't go too crazy on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, lol.

Cheers!

xoxo,

Adeline
