My New Haircut... Kept My Promise to Avoid Hair Dyes!

Back in December, I blogged and did a video about my vow to stay away from toxin-laden hair dyes. Well recently, I felt like I needed to change up my hair. I was just getting bored of my plain, side-parted hair. Although hair dying was very tempting, I'm proud to say that I resisted that urge. Instead, I opted for a haircut. :)

As you can see from the picture above, I got bangs. (Note: please excuse the almost makeup-less face, as I only wear mascara and blush on Sundays, lol.) I feel like I look more Asian now, because an Asian with bangs is so stereotypical, ha ha. I've had bangs several times growing up, but I could never kept them for long, because my hair always grew so fast and I would get too lazy to trim them. This time around, I'm going to try to maintain them, because I love them. Also, I got my hair re-layered and trimmed a bit. No worries though, because my hair is still long (my hair guy kept most of my length). Plus, my head feels so much lighter now.

Here's a video I recorded yesterday about my haircut after my visit to the salon. So happy that my hair guy could fit me in his schedule on such a short, impulsive notice.

By the way, it's been just over one week since I got my Karma Organic manicure at Alma Natural Spa. I normally leave on nail polish for around 3 days before switching it up since I get bored easily (I swear I have nail polish A.D.D. lol). However, I really wanted to test the wear on this "organic" line of nail polishes. After 1 week and 1 day, I only have 1 chip on my index finger, which is typical of an OPI or Essie polish on me. Bravo, Karma Organic!

Here's the same picture with flash. You can already see nail growth by my cuticles (yes, my nails grow very fast like my hair, lol) and that chip is bugging me, so I'm going to re-paint them tomorrow. My next colour is probably going to be Essie "A-List" (shown above). My nails have been craving some red recently and this is my all-time favourite red. I also want a touch of glitter, so I might do a glittery top coat on just my ring fingers. We'll see... I will probably post a picture of it via my Twitter.

Anyways, hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and I will try to update my blog a few times this week. :)

xoxo,

Adeline
